And the fact that the nv driver doesn't work without a lot of
configuring for some people (like me), auto-configure consistently
chooses a refresh-rate/resolution that my screen is unable to display.

But the kmod-system is only useful if you use stock Fedora kernels and
I'm using the Tux On Ice kernels (http://mhensler.de/swsusp/download_en.php)
from Mathias Hensler. So for me those dkms packages are really useful
(although one can also use the driver packages provided by ATrpms
(http://atrpms.net/) who also builds them for the Tux On Ice kernels).
