No Sound after installing Fedora 7

Jatin;  this latest response made me think.  If you have a sound card
with left, right, and record,
Then maybe you have it in the wrong port.  Just a thought.

Right-click on the master volume control and pick Preferences... then if
you have a "Switches" tab, try toggling some of the switches.  Depending
on the capabilities of your audio hardware, you might have an
analog/digital output jack and have this set to the wrong output.  If
you don't have a Switches tab, pick Edit then Preferences and turn on
some capabilities by placing checks next to the list of items in the
Preferences panel.  This will add more controls to the volume control
panel.  Then try toggling relevant-looking things on or off.

This portion of the fix has nothing to do with FreshRPMs per se (hence
you may get more help in a GNOME mailing list or someplace related to
audio configuration with the Linux kernel), but the next part might.

Were you getting sound playback before you installed the codecs?
