Are you getting an error message or just no volume? just by chance
you may need to raise the volume on the items that were off while in the
alsamixer.

What I have found is that sometimes you need to run: # alsamixer
and check if there are any items in the MUTE state.
Use the arrow keys to move between items. Up top you will see
if it says [Mute]. If so, hit the M key and it will unmute.
To exit hit Esc key.

Hi
after installing fedora 7 in my toshiba laptop (A 135 - s2386)
i am not getting any sound in my laptop
installed all the mp3 codecs and video codecs but still no
sucess.
googled it and got some results asking me to change some source
code in the alsa base file under /etc dir.
please let me know the detailed steps as i am a new user in
linux.
