I, too, am getting these warnings at boot time. Then the nVidia driver seems 
to start OK - (I see the nVidia splash screen briefly as x boots up, and my 
glxgears performance goes way up). I don't understand the suggestion made in 
this thread by "Τάσος Χρόνης" <tasoschr at gmail.com>
