I am testing it on a Compaq Presario v5000 (Radeon XPRESS
200M 5955) with kernel 2.6.19-1.2911.fc6.

On the bright side:

** hibernate works sometimes;

** suspend works fine, even after a failed hibernate;

** Xv works fine (VideoOverlay "on"), thus mplayer -vo xv is
   taking very few CPU power; :)

** switch back and forth to text console works fine, unlike
   the free radeon driver which sometimes messes the graphics
   up beyond repair.

On the dark side:

** hibernate does not work some other times. :)

After 8.29 I'd say this is the best release in the recent
streak. Someday they will eventualy come up with a flawless
driver.
