Quick warning for FC6 users. FC6 seems to have a habit of installing i586
kernel packages on some i686 machines. I also had i686 devel packages
installed. This difference caused both the official Nvidia install and
these rpms to whinge about not being able to find the source and then bomb
out. Watch out for it.
The solution, in my case, was:
1. download the i686 version of the kernel
2. rpm -ivh --force kernel.xxxxx.i686.rpm
3. reboot
and I reinstalled the NVIDIA stuff for good measure.
Oh, and if you get a blank screen which you can't quit from... try
modprobe -r eeprom
as root before starting X... that worked for me. It seems to be a known
bug in the beta versions.
