Thinking about this more, just running the ipw3945d as root might not
work if you haven't already run their start scripts
since /var/run/ipw3945 might not exist. Their start scripts create the
dir on start and remove it on stop.
Drivers seem to be working fine. I was using the Linville kernels for
ipw3945 but it's nicer having standard kernels with just the drivers I
need.
