mplayer was working. The problem was my vlc-0.8.5, wich used
ffmpeg shared libraries, and transcode from freshrpms.
In fact, I always recompile vlc and mplayer because either atrpms or
freshrpms versions
do not use the options I need, such as v4l, goom, jack, and no fribidi.
Video in linux is still a bit more complicated than I would like it to be.
But on the other hand,
with some lizard tail and dragon teeth the spell works after all.
