Mine is broken too. Cannot transcode using xvid ...

Unfortunately, vlc-0.8.6 builds OK, but with old ffmpeg from freshrpms, xvid
is also broken.
(I did not use a newer ffmpeg in my spec file, as Mathias did).

I think ffmpeg has to be upgraded to a newer version ASAP.
