    Maybe this is the longstanding problem we've been fighting?  I've just never seen it at install-time, but after.

    Here's something to try.  It's how we deal with a bug in RPM getting (theorhetically) more requests than it can handle:

    rm /var/lib/rpm/__*
    rpm --rebuilddb

    ...then try using it again.  Anyone else know better?
